Two products, live and looked after.

Most studios show you a portfolio of things they handed over. These two are ours: we designed them, built them, shipped them to the App Store and Google Play, and we still run them. Everything we know about building software, we learned by having to keep these working.

Nebenkosten App

Property & rental · DE / AT / CH

Utility cost statements are a yearly headache for anyone renting out property in the German-speaking world: dozens of cost items, distribution keys, meter readings, advance payments — and a tenant who is legally entitled to check every line. The Nebenkosten App walks landlords through it step by step and produces a professional PDF that holds up.

A reef tank is a chemistry experiment you have to keep alive. Reef Lab is a logbook built for exactly that — not a freshwater app with a saltwater mode bolted on. Water parameters, dosing, maintenance, livestock and what the whole thing actually costs, in one place, offline first.

The whole thing, not a slice of it.

We are not a body shop that plugs a developer into someone else's backlog. We take a product from the first sketch to a listing in the stores and keep it running afterwards — which means the same people are responsible for the decisions and for living with them.

Mobile apps

iOS and Android from one React Native and Expo codebase — native modules where it matters, one product where it doesn't. Including signing, store assets and release builds.

Web apps & landing pages

Full-stack web applications and fast, static marketing sites on Cloudflare. Progressive web apps that share their code with the mobile build instead of duplicating it.

AI where it earns its keep

Voice input that files itself in the right place, document and receipt understanding, plausibility checks, chat assistants with real context. Used to remove work, not as a sticker on the box.

Cloud & infrastructure

Firebase, Cloudflare Workers, Docker and small, boring servers that stay up. Sync queues, offline-first data, quota guards — the parts users never see and always feel.

Documents that must be right

Generated PDFs with legal weight: statements, reports, exports. Rounding, distribution keys and edge cases that have to survive being checked by someone who disagrees with them.

Localisation & launch

German and English throughout, country-specific rules and formats, store listings, screenshots and the unglamorous review process — done properly, so launch day is uneventful.

Four steps, no theatre.

Small studio, short path. You talk to the people writing the code, and you see something running early enough that changing your mind is still cheap.

Scope

One conversation about what the thing actually has to do, and an honest answer on what it will cost — including when the answer is that you shouldn't build it.

Prototype

A running version of the risky part first, not a slide deck. If something is going to be hard, we would rather find out in week two than in month five.

Build

Short cycles, a build on your own device the whole way through, and a codebase that another developer could pick up — because one day one will.

Ship & run

Store submission, review, release. Then monitoring, updates and the quiet maintenance that decides whether a product is still alive in two years.

Small on purpose.

Nullpointer Labs LLC is an independent software studio registered in Sheridan, Wyoming, working remotely with people in Europe and the Middle East. We are deliberately small: no account layer, no handover to a team you never met, no estimate written by someone who will not have to build it.

What we bring is the full arc of shipping a product — architecture, interface, infrastructure, the compliance details, the store review, and the years afterwards where it has to keep working. Our own apps are the proof that we do all of it, not just the enjoyable middle part.

We work in German and English, and our products are localised for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the United States and the UAE.

Which apps has Nullpointer Labs released?

Yes. We build from a single React Native and Expo codebase that ships to iOS, Android and the web, which keeps one product consistent across all three platforms instead of maintaining three separate apps.
